Pierre-Marius Victor Jourdan made his debut at the Opéra Comique in 1848. In 1860, he was engaged at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, where he remained until 1869. He then returned to Paris and continued his international career, performing in London, Brussels, and The Hague. He played major roles of the era, including Hamlet, the Star of the North, and Manon Lescaut.
