Albumen prints glued onto cardboard and subsequently mounted under passe-partout, located in pencil, numbered 48 and 49 and captioned on a printed and glued label, in the margin at the bottom right and bearing the dry stamp EQ (Edmond Quetier, successor to the Bisson brothers) at the bottom left.

Louis Auguste BISSON (1814-1876) known as Bisson aîné and Auguste Rosalie BISSON (1826-1900) known as Bisson Jeune are two pioneers of French photography.

Active since 1847, the Bisson brothers were among the first to emerge from the workshop. Known for their large print runs, they quickly gained international renown.
