"The Rascals", a mechanism plate for a Magic Lantern, c.1850

Humorous "The Rascals" system plaque for magic lantern.

It consists of a wooden frame enclosing two hand-painted glass plates.

On the first plate, two little boys grab the wig of an elegant woman. On the second plate, the wig is gone and the woman is left without her chignon.
