Created by Charles Pigeon, this petrol lamp could burn for over 15 hours and was guaranteed non-explosive. The trademark found on all the lamps, in addition to the name, depicts a pigeon resting on a globe and holding a lamp in its beak.
Created in 1884, Pigeon brass lamps spread and specialized, candle lamp, wall lamp, flashlight and lamp for photographic development with red colored glass which appeared from 1885.
These red glass safelight sleeves are quite rare; they allow photos to be developed by providing a little light without altering the chemicals.
