Humorous "Flower Basket" system plaque for magic lantern.
It consists of a 10 x 25 cm white wooden frame enclosing two hand-painted glass plates with a diameter of 7.5 cm.
On the first plaque, a young woman holds a basket of flowers. On the second plaque, a small elf emerges from the basket.
In 1866, Ernst Plank founded the “Fabrik Optischer und Mechanischer Waren” (Optical and Mechanical Goods Factory) . He was one of the first manufacturers of miniature steam engines, which he sold as individual machines or as components in locomotives and boats. He even became the second largest manufacturer of magic lanterns in Nuremberg after Bing. These lanterns are usually identified by the letters “EP.” They are topped with a wheel and two wings.
