Folding Zeiss Ikon - Super Ikonta 531/2
Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 105mm f/4.5 lens
6x9 format
The Super Ikonta has a rangefinder of a special type, made up of two parts, one near the lens, the other on the body of the camera.
Everything about this camera is beautiful and very well made. The casing and chrome finishes are remarkable. The precision is exemplary, as evidenced by the film advance knob.
The folding camera is a folding bellows camera.
Lightweight and practical, it was very easy to carry, especially in pockets, hence the name "vest pocket" for the first Kodak folding cameras. This type of camera replaced wooden cameras and remained very popular until 1940.
Folding cameras are highly sought after by collectors, particularly for their aesthetic qualities, but also by enthusiasts of old processes, since with a 120 roll they allow for 6x9 photographs, and a simple contact is enough to reveal the image.
