Emily Webb is one of the pioneering women of portrait photography. Louis Lagriffe was born on October 3, 1824, in Auch, Gers. Under the name Désiré Lagriffe, he practiced photography in Paris, as did his brothers Jean-Baptiste (1820-1865) and Clément (1828-1899).
