 Anna Judic (1849-1911), nicknamed "The Diva with Velvet Eyes," began her career at the Folies Bergère, where she performed risqué songs. She was quickly noticed by Offenbach, who repeatedly gave her leading roles in his operas. She triumphed at the Bouffes Parisiennes and became the star of the Théâtre des Variétés.
